Akinohama beach .
Akinohama must be most popular dive site in Oshima, because of a wide variety
of sea floors and creatures. This beach directly faces to several hundred
meters depth off shore. Marine lives from depth that are rarely seen by
divers are often seen. There is a series of rocks stretched from the shore just like pier, and
divers can easily enter into and easily exit from water by using the ladder.
Car parking is very close to that rock, so that divers don’t need to walk
long distance. Big soft corals that are characteristic creatures around
here make beautiful scene like flower garden. There are various kinds of
creatures. Seahorses, frogfishes, school of grunts, nudibranchs are usually
seen. Wehave met long tale sharks occasionally.
Nodahama beach
Nodahama is probably the most frequently dived beach in the west coast
of the island.
Scuba courses for certification are also practiced in this beach as well.
We can enjoy complex landscapes and arches. School of fishes and dragon
eels are usually seen in the arch.
Keikai beach
Keikai have a really complex landform that looks like canyon or maze. Many
colorful soft corals make fantastic scene. Of course there are many kinds
of fishes. Carpet sharks are often seen.
Ounohama beach
There are several hard corals and small caves and large walls. A lot of
pine corn fishes can be seen. Big groupers and turtle are often seen.
